✦ Why you'll love this
✦ Kimono Description
The two one-of-a-kind Baguio Asul kimonos, feature a striking blend of traditional Filipino textile artistry and modern design. The primary fabric is a deep black base accented with handwoven Benguet patterns in blue and black, strategically placed along the back, front, and sleeves.
The blue-and-black-striped sections create a bold, vertical visual that enhances the garment’s length, drawing attention to the craftsmanship. The intricate stitching around the edges adds a refined touch, showcasing attention to detail.
Handwoven fabrics from Baguio are a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of local artisans, who dedicate days or even weeks to creating each piece. Using traditional backstrap looms, they intricately interlace vibrant threads into patterns inspired by the Cordillera's rich cultural heritage, embodying both the patience and artistry of generations-old techniques.
Its aesthetic leans towards a contemporary interpretation of Filipino heritage attire, suitable for both formal and casual settings.
Baguio Asul is available in two versions, one longer and shorter, with the former having an intricate double yellow stitch and the latter a single white one along the sleeve and inner edges.
